Extra Helpful Tips:

  Preventive Maintenance

Having preventive maintenance on your oven prolongs its life and reduces the times it has to be serviced. A good preventive maintenance you can do is to clean your oven interior as needed.

Self-cleaning ovens use extreme heat to oxidize dirt. They use approximately 900 degrees F temperature cycle to burn off spills leftover from baking, without the use of any chemicals. A self-cleaning oven is designed with a mechanical interlock to keep the oven door locked and closed during and soon after the high-temperature cleaning cycle is over, which can be approximately three hours. The door remains locked so that may not be any burn injuries. You can open the oven door after it cools to approximately 500 F.

  • Allow your oven to preheat 15-20 min.
  • Keep the area around the oven elements or stove top burners clean of grease or cooking oil to prevent fire hazard.
